The Midweek Message is an On-Line Ministry of Pastor Dick Hurd and the Caton Church A Global Methodist community of Faith February 25, 2026 Well friends another song has captured me. Michael W. Smith sings to the Lord saying… “This is the air I breath Your Holy presence living within me.” He sings repeatedly “I’m desperate for you, I’m lost without you. And then in the midst of the song, he asks the people gathered there an important question that I think we all need to hear and consider, He asks; “How many of you are hungry for God?” “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 Are you seeking him in that way? I think that so many times we like to keep God on the fringes of our lives. We want Him close enough to bring us peace and comfort but not so close so as to interfere with our “real lives.” Do you ever feel that way? I don’t think our God is satisfied with half-hearted devotion. I don’t think He will settle for an occasional visit, or a sometimes faith. He wants all of us, all of the time. Perhaps that seems to us, awfully demanding of Him. If it does maybe we need to remember what he gave up to deserve our devotion. Lord I’m desperate for you, I’m lost without you!! This is the cry of a true believer. This is the confession of a contrite heart. This is the plea of every sinner saved and wanting to be saved by the grace of God. This is the air I breath! Yours in the love of Christ Pastor Dick Breath Prayer: Lord, may I inhale more of you with every breath. Amen
